A small wooden building built in 1881 housed all the kids who attended the Blumenhof Private Mennonite School in Steinbach, Manitoba. A majority of the Mennonite schools built had the same basic classroom layout as the public schools with one teacher and the same type of teaching under one roof.
While visiting Steinbach, Manitoba, stop by the Mennonite Heritage Village to see the school and entire village which brings to life the way the Mennonite people lived dating back to the 16th century. Forty acres at the village to explore is open year round with a variety of exhibits which tell the tales of the Mennonite faith and culture throughout the years.
