The Apollo Butterfly from Bulgaria has transparent wings with dark brown spots on the upper wings and yellow spots on the lower wings outlined with brown coloring. The body of the Apollo Butterfly is covered in hairs which are very visible when looking at the display through the microscopes at the Newfoundland Insectarium and Butterfly Pavilion in Newfoundland.
There are many species of butterflies found throughout Bulgaria but the Apollo Butterfly is very unique with its wings where you can see each vein running through them.
