Just looking at the furnishings in a store at the Mennonite Heritage Village in Steinbach, Manitoba in Canada, visitors will get a good idea of how these people once lived. Typewriters and phones such as these are non-existent in today's world, even the beautiful wooden desk is something that is rare to find.
The original store was known as the Klaas Reimer store and it was the first one in Steinbach, Manitoba which dates back to 1884. Here visitors will find items on display which are from the John C. Reimer collection. One other store in the Mennonite Heritage Village is the General Store which sold candy and various types of crafts made by local people.
