Each of the members at the RCMP Academy in the City of Regina in Saskatchewan, Canada participate in the Sargeant Major's Parade and Graduation ceremonies. As the officers step in time while marching, the higher ranked members wear the red uniform jacket, the Sam Browne belt and cross shoulder strap, brown gloves along with the yellow striped pants and brown boots, the last two being worn by the lower ranked members.
These are the official British military uniforms worn by the officers at the RCMP Academy which take many hours of vigorous exercise, discipline and studying to complete in order to wear them. The boots were altered from black riding boots to brown over the years making the entire uniform look more official.
These uniforms are worn mostly during the celebrations and as all the members are marching on the grounds of the RCMP Academy in the City of Regina, their timing is impeccable. The Sargeant Major's Parade and Graduation Ceremony is one which is open to the public and one which is well worth seeing while visiting Regina, Saskatchewan.
