Nanookshuk Statue Bears On Broadway Winnipeg City Manitoba

A unique statue named Nanookshuk, is part of the Bears on Broadway collection and can be seen on the Legislative Building grounds in the City of Winnipeg, Manitoba in Canada.

On the grounds of the Legislative Building in the City of Winnipeg in Manitoba, Canada, the Nanookshuk is one of the statues belonging to the Bears on Broadway collection. The design of Nanookshuk resembles that of Nanook, the Inuit name for the Polar Bear and an Inukshuk, a navigational marker built out of stones. Created by Artist, Charles Johnston, the Nanookshuk statue reflects the way people depend on each other and the spirit of cooperation amongst us.

The Bears on Broadway is a project which celebrates the 75th anniversary of CancerCare Manitoba. A variety of the Bears on Broadway, like the Nanookshuk statue, can be viewed while visiting Winnipeg City, Manitoba.
