A meaningful statue to the town of Wawa, as the name of the town originated from the Ojibwe word "wewe" which means "wild goose". In 1963, it was decided that this large, metal statue should be constructed representing the town and the community.
Visitors to Wawa, Ontario during the spring and fall, will find hundreds of Canada Geese along the shores of Wawa Lake on their migration route.
